This course explores the world of photography starting with the basics. All students must own or have access to a Digital Camera.  Each student should be sure to come to class with a fully charged battery and the owner's manual to their camera. No prior photography experience is necessary.   This is a one semester class.

Students will learn to take pictures using a variety of lighting styles, including natural and studio lighting. They will explore the art of different styles of photography, including nature, architecture, portraiture, sports, advertising, & abstract.  This is a project based class and some of the projects will include a calendar, brochure, a poem/lyric project, self-portrait, and a vintage or period style photo shoot.

There will be a monthly photo contest based on a selected theme, and student photographs will be displayed in the main part of the school and voted on by the student body and faculty.

All students will have artwork/photographs displayed in our Mercy Art Show in May!
